DAT TORAH

The Halacha places great emphasis on Kavod HaTorah Vachachameha (honoring the Torah and its Sages). Throughout Jewish History, we have always looked to our Torah leaders to give us guidance, inspiration, and direction. This connection to Torah MiSinai has kept Judaism alive and vibrant in Sephardic communities despite all the trials and tribulations they have encountered over the centuries.

Here at YSZ HS for Girls, we consult Da’at Torah every step of the way to ensure that our program is shaped by our rabbanim and to transmit an authentic mesorah that will create a true Makom Torah for the girls of our community.

RABBI YITZCHAK YISRAELI

Rabbi Yitzchak Yisraeli is a leading Sephardic posek in the United States and serves as the Chief Rabbi to the Bukharian community, where he guides and sets policy for the Chief Bukharian Rabbinate in the USA and Canada. He was a former talmid of Chacham Ovadia Yosef ZT”L and Chacham Ben Tzion Abba Shaul ZT”L, and continues their path in teaching in-depth halachah to the masses.

Rabbi Yisraeli is also known for his prolific halachic writings. His first book, Me’avnei Hamakom, deals with several halakhic topics, including contemporary Shabbat issues, marriage, gittin and agunot. A second volume of the book was recently published dealing with even more intrinsic halachic matters from all areas of Jewish law.

Rabbi Yisraeli also published a book by the name of Yode’ei Binah, which deals with the determination of Zmanim in halachah. His vision for YSZ HS for Girls is that students will cherish their beautiful heritage and realize their potential.
