Here at YSZ HS for Girls, we curate a rich program that promotes character development and social-emotional learning. Freshman students meet weekly with their mechanechet, Morah Balakhaneh, and take a weekly Hashkafah class with Mrs. Zerykier. Our thoughtful co curricular programs and chessed activities are designed to empower each student to become the best version of herself and live a life as a true bat Yisrael, dedicated to family, community, and purpose.
Sample workshops and topics include:
I’m so stressed.
How can I manage my time?
How would I feel if I were in her shoes?
What could make me a better friend? What should I look for in a friend?
Should I do something just because my friends are doing it?
How do you say “no” to a group activity?
Learning to persevere through life’s challenges.
What does it mean to stretch yourself?
How can I become the best version of myself?
Am I open to change?
What do you see when you look in the mirror?
What is true beauty?
How can I see myself from the inside out?
What do girls do when they feel that they need to fit in?
How do girls act differently
when they feel they BELONG?
How do I let people know they can trust me?
How do I earn the trust of my friends, parents, and teachers?
We believe that kindness, connection, and compassion are integral life skills that will enrich students’ lives. To that end, we actively work to facilitate team building and connection. Our girls are kind and warm to each other and create a home away from home.
